1. Chris L Says: I have a full size ford bronco that cranks but doesnt start. After listening to the fuel tank it doesnt sound like the pump is running, it only makes a clicking noise. any idea on what would cause this or is it just a bad fuel pump.
2. Mikaela P Says: Check your fuel pump relay and your fuel pump. Both could be malfunctioning already. Hope this help!
3. rick29148 Says: There should be a pressure fitting on the fuel manifold that feeds the injectors. It'll look exactly like a bicycle tire air valve. Get a good rag, and have someone turn the key to ignition, and carefully depress the center pin in the fitting. IF the pump is working, fuel will squirt out, which is why you have the rag right there.
4. automobob Says: Three things make an engine run.. Fuel, spark, and compression (mechanical). Verify no fuel as you have. Verify there is fuel in the tank to pump. Now its time to work your way back from where you tested a no-fuel symptom. Check at the fuel filter for fuel pressure (rotating the key from off to run position every time you want to verify fuel/no fuel. Next check the wire going to the electric fuel pump on top of the fuel tank. Don't forget every time you want to test ask someone to rotate the key from off to run position. (A fuel pump is not designed to operate 100% of the time, it will usually turn on when key is turned then shut back off after reaching desired pressure). Hints: Make sure battery is fully charged before testing. Make sure to wear safety goggles. (Not worth the chance of gas in the eye w/checking for a pressure) and of course....NO SPARKS OR CIGS! Hope this helps....
