My 2000 toyota corolla shakes when on idle, what can it be? sensors?

1. Bvn Says: in addition, the check engine light came on today, and i went to the repair shop. They ran it with wit code scanner or w/e. and the mechanic said it was 2 SENSORS that needed to be replaced. He said it would be a total of $250. Am i being ripped off? or is it reasonable? Will the shaking still continue? help!!!?? its my first car

2. molitor Says: Go to Autozone. They will read the code and give you a copy. Find a Toyota owners forum on the internet and post the codes. Reading the codes is an interpretive art, sometimes they point you in a direction but aren't necessarily all informative. Someone on the forum will get back to you and give you some options. Chances are the mechanic is not a pirate but if you don't trust him these are your options.
