Oil change. do I need the 3000 mile or the 5000 mile one?
(2010-05-30 11:33:01) 1. Says: My car's a 1998 Camry and I've had 150,000 plus miles on it. I got my oil changed in December or January and I don't drive it around that much so Ididn' t do the 3 month oil change. Now I'm on the 5 month, I know I have to get the more expensive one but i think last time they asked me if I'm supposed to get 3000 or 5000 oil change. I just hit 3000 miles yesterday. Which should I get (sorry I don't remember the actual words they said. It's probably 3K or 5K mile oil change.)thanks2. Says: That 3000 mile oil change thing is a joke. Years back when oil was not that good they did it at 3000 but now oil is much better than it used to be and to change at 3000 is a waste of money and good oil. Most cars come with the factory recommending oil change at 5k to 7k my thought is if the engine maker says it won't do damage at an extended interval it won't. I change my pickup oil at 10k and it's still alive.3. Says: 3000 miles or 3 months also change the oil filter too Tag: Oil change. do I need the 3000 mile or the 5000 mile one?
