Both radiator fans under the hood kick in every 3 minutes, what's the issue?

1. SPC M Says: As stated in title, under the hood they both turn on and blow for 7 seconds then stop. It blow again after 2 minutes. My car is not overheating and the gauge is around the center like it supposed to be.

**I replaced my radiator hoses, could it be the radiator itself or the water pump??

2. Love The Beast Going 4 wheeling Says: Sounds normal to me.
3. Smokies Hiker Says: The switch that operates the fans when the radiator calls for cooling may be defective. I rather doubt it's the water pump, or there would be noise and water leaking out the front near the water pump. It's likely not the radiator itself either. The thermostatic switch is what makes the fans come on. If the radiator or radiator hoses were the problem, the vehicle would likely overheat. I've seen these switches go bad and turn the fan(s) on when the vehicle was just sitting there, and run the fan(s) until the battery went dead. Hope you find the problem soon. Good luck!
