Did i crack my engine block?
(2010-05-30 11:38:53) 1. Says: the other day as i was driving my car, it was on e, so i needed gas, nd i saw that the temp needle was moving pretty high. i originally needed coolant, but i didn't get it, so insted some1 put water in it. anyway, my car over heated as i came off the high way nd the steering wheel got hard like like when the battery dies, and a little smoke came from the hood, nd it made a weird little noise like a ssssssssssssssssss noise lol. i let the car cool down but then it wouldn't start. it sounded like it wanted to, but it didn't roll over all the way, so i had it towed home. we put gas in it and everything nd it still wouldn't start. then today out of no where the car started, but a little bit of smoke came from the hood. do you know what happened? (btw, i also need a oil change, could that b y its smoking? nd still there's no coolant bc ihaven'tt driven it to get some) plz nd thank u!p.s. its a 98 chevy malibu, v62. Says: Still no coolant???? You do have water don't you! It sounds like you have a coolant leak or tossed the belt (no power steering) which would not allow the water pump to function. You need to get with the program and start maintaining your car! Use the maintenance schedule in the owners manual as a reference.3. Says: a lot of problems. i sugguest you let a mechanic take a look at it and from there see if its worth keeping.4. Says: You normally do not drive a car that is low on coolant to the point that it overheats and say I was on my way to get some. Water works very well in most above freezing temps. Where did you have to drive from home to find any source of water for your car? You overheated once, maybe you got lucky and did not do any head damage. Maybe a little maintenance would be in order.
