How does tuned port injection work?

1. Says: As with any injection system the injectors are controlled by computer. TPI is also called multi port injection because there is an injector for each cylinder in the intake manifold. The computer tells the injectors to open just as it tells when the ignition should fire the plugs at the proper time. The tuning is a bit of a misnomer simply because for the most part the general public has no way of "tuning" the engine as with the standard ignition setups of the past. Some systems will allow for changing the chip in the computer for higher performance but you will lose some gas mileage.2. Says: This web site has all the info you need
http://tpiparts.net/faq3. Says: Tuned port injection in cars is similar to tuned waveguide in radar. If the waveguide is tuned then the microwave energy in waveguide travels down it with minimum loss. In cars it would be sound energy but sound energy acts the same as electomagnetic energy. Tuned port in cars would mean that the gas vapor has minimum resistance on the way to the cylinder head. Tag: How does tuned port injection work?
