Axle Ratios for a 1973 K5 Blazer 4x4?

1. Floorjack Says: I have the axles from a 1973 4x4 K5 Blazer sitting in front of me. I turn the input yoke about 1.5 time, and the wheel goes around once. WTF? I know it isn't a 1.5:1 final drive ratio...there's no such thing. How can I tell the gear ratio short of taking it apart and counting the pinion and ring gear teeth?

2. Slardi Says: Pull off that rear cover and mark the begining of the teeth and count both the ring and pinion. THats the best way. Turning the wheel and pinion won't tell you anything about the axle ratio.
