I just filled up my expedition and the gas gauge only says that i have a little over half a tank in.?

Sounds like the resistance in the sending unit is having problems. A way to test this would be to take the fuel tank down, pull out the whole assembly. Then disconnect the wires that go the the floating pedal thing. Put a ohms meter on it and then move the "pedal' up and down if it goes to 40 ohms when the pedal is at the highest point, its ok, if it goes to 240 ish when its at bottom then thats good to. If it goes out of this range 40-240 ohms it is broken get a new one.3. D Says: If you really filled it, then you have a problem with your fuel sender, not your pump.
