1. Wise Talking Cat Named Binky Says: Im Wondering if i shoudl take Pictures of my WONDERFUL Fuel Line Job i did myself :D I disconnected the Passenger tank and there is a metal Cap at the "T" where Tank 2 came in.... But i think i did it right.. At first i by-passed the whole thing that seems to allow Fuel to return.. Now i let it go through, and the Gas Gauge works!

This is the 85 Jaguar

Want to see Pictures? And please explain thsi to me, so i can see if i did it right?

new Fuel Pump seems to Buzz a -little- louder than Old one, but Seriously now.. ONLY Gas, NO Additives? Not even SeaFoam or MMo at 4 OUNCES? ... i didnt drain the old Gas. I DID add 8 Gallons though. About to add more....

Thanks
2. Aliele Says: yea it need a vapor line, fuel send, and return for sure. It is good to have all the wires hooked up like it was suppose to be. So like you said the gauge works. Im not sure what to tell you other then to get it as close to OEM as you can.
3. Richard Says: A fuel-injected engine uses a return line to the tank as part of it's basic design. It pumps MORE fuel than necessary, then returns the unused portion.
4. Claira Voyant Says: Fuel is pumped to the engine, then whatever isn't used is forced thru the pressure regulator then back to the tank. If you blocked the return line, who knows what pressure is in the fuel rail. The pump, now louder, is working to push fuel without relief. So, what is going to happen. Maybe the fuel line or a hose breaks, causing you to burn up your pretty little fix-it job, maybe you get lucky and the fuel pump fails first. Oh yes, put more gas in it, it'll burn longer. Man, if you are going to work on it then repair it while you're at it.
5. D Says: Marvel Mystery Oil and similar things are just a waste of money. They serve no purpose in a modern car. You can make your own MMO though, 2 gallons kerosene, 1 quart ATF, 1 pint Napatha. It will even look the same. Good luck with your Jag.
