1. Donkey Kong Says: okay, so it was random shorting out randomly for hours every now and then, then just went out. when im driving on the highway i can put it on high and get a little air outside and i can change the temp or even put the ac on and feel it working with the little vented air coming in. the problem is it doesnt blow, like the fans out or something? not sure.
2. carguy Says: It most likely has something to do with either your blower motor or blower relay. The fact that it was going in and out makes me think that it might be the relay or even something in the switch or the wiring. If you're wanting to try and fix this yourself I'd start with the relay. Depending on your vehicle these can be inexpensive and easy to replace. Playing a guessing game like this can in the long run cost more than just taking it to a mechanic and having it fixed. But if you find that the relay for your car is inexpensive and easy to replace I would definitely give it a shot.
3. Autodude Says: Your blower motor resistor works through a ballast resister for the speed settings. I would guess the resistor or the motor itself is bad.
