What is the difference between a coil apring insulator and isolator?

Insulator: For electricity, just simply resists the flow of electricity and in a way guides it to where it needs to go.
Ex: What your spark plug wires are wrapped in.

Isolator: Well...it isolates the part from other metal parts - helping to control electrical flow.
Ex: Can't think of any parts lol

They both just keep the electricity going where it should be and not some other random place.
3. honda guy Says: they are both the same, just different terms for the same part. The piece you are referring to is at the top of the spring and keeps the spring separate from the metal of the strut so that you don't have metal-to-metal contact as the spring moves. It "isolates" the spring by keeping it separate from the strut and insulates the noise that would otherwise occur where it not there.
