Can you use Hyundai Parts on a Kia?

1. ELNY Says: I have a 2004 Kia Optima and I want to replace my mirrors with LED turn signal mirrors that I saw for my car on the Korean Auto Parts website(http://www.koreanautoimports.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=30_28&products_id=2245) but the only thing is that they want almost 200 dollars for only ONE mirror and altogether for two mirrors will be 400 dollars plus shipping, Now I saw the same mirrors for 179.95 for the 2004 Hyundai Sonata but that price is for BOTH mirrors (http://www.koreanautoimports.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=31_45&products_id=1498). I know that the 2002 to 2006 Hyundai Sonata and Kia Optima are exactly the same car except for the grill, tail ends, and interior, but I want to make sure I can use the Hyundai mirrors and save some money or will I have to pay 800.00 for both Kia mirrors.

2. Hyundai Guru Says: As a Hyundai employee I can recognize the parts are interchangeable between the 2 manufacturer. For example consumable such as air filter, oil filters, brake pads and rotors etc have both names on the part box (Hyundai's as well KIA's). The one not interchangeable (will not fit from oe to another) do not have both names on the box. Mirror are in this category. Outside mirrors do not fit from KIA to Hyundai.

3. Kenny Says: The one for the Optima seem to be for pair also. They didn't ask for left or right. You should write to them about it.

Anyway to your question, I would gamble of them not being the same. Even though the shape looks the same and the LED has different lenses, they give two different parts for two different models...

5. gm Says: get a used parts from your local junkyard.
cars involved in collision and sent to junk sometimes still got undamaged sidemirrors. you can just repaint if color will not match.
before you buy new, try the option of used parts,, it is 6 years old car, not practical to give your car brand new parts like a side mirror..
