1. Lelouch Says: Its not always done this, i assume it is making the sounds when it takes in water, since it happens for about 5 to 7 seconds, every few hours or more. Its not the "popping" sound that i have always heard from every water heater/tank i've every been around. Can this be easily fix? Is this something to stress over? What should i do, i'm pretty handy around the house, Hot water tanks and heaters make me a little nervous, anyone had this happen?
2. Yaz Says: You have air in the system and it needs to be bleed, You should install & air trap
this will take care of the problem
3. Michael S Says: Sounds like you might have air in the system. Try opening the high pressure relief valve on the top, but just for a little bit and be prepared to wipe up water.
4. Michael J Says: go to the highest hot water dispensing point in the house and let it run until the air comes out. turn it on full.
5. Bert from Brandon Says: Sounds like your temperature is set too high and the water is overheating causing a noise.
You should also try draining the sediment out of the tank, as this will also cause local overheating, and noise when the heater cuts in.
