1. doodj Says: some auto filipino mechanic comment on radiator clogging due to coolant usage.
2. catmandew Says: While it's often referred to as "anti-freeze", which is a property you may not need, it's also a better coolant than plain water when used as a 50/50 mix. It has a higher boiling point than plain water, which can help prevent overheating. And V.G. is right about the lubrication and anti-corrosion properties too.

It should be flushed out and replaced every 3-5 years depending if you use regular or extended-life type. Use one type/brand or another, and stick to that as far as not mixing. If you follow those rules, it cannot cause clogging of anything.
3. catmandew Says: 100% coolant is actually less effective as an anti-freeze than 50/50,because of a weird chemical reaction when mixed with water. (see next comment) If you want extra lubricants and corrosion inhibitors, I'd go with 50/50 and an anti-freeze additive (not sealant but referred to as a "recharge").

5. Voodoo Grinch Says: What I do know about radiator coolant is that it acts as a lubricant for the water and coats the aluminum inside the radiator. Without it the water would eat away at the radiator and may eventually cause a crack. So unless you have an older model car always put 50% coolants and 50% water mix into the water tank.
P.S- make sure the cars running when you do this so that you can get the maximum amount of fluid into the car.
6. boto*01 Says: yes use 50/50 mix , no do not mix colors(chemical reaction) , do not let colant get a brown color(becomes like an acid if not flushed) do not use stop leak. antifreeze raises the boling temp of water too.
