No Acceleration.......Some...but none...?

1. Jay B Says: I have a 1992 Honda Civic LX (Automatic).
I recently changed my Water Pump & had to Re-time my timing belt(installed it wrong before but Timing Belt is still new).
Now I have another problem.....When I press on the gas there seems to be little to NO acceleration from the car...this is when I'm in "Reverse" and "Drive". I can accelerate alittle bit...but not too much(no the gas pedal is not stuck.)
While I was changing the Water Pump and doing the timing belt I cleaned the EACV & the Throttle Body (where the flap is that opens from the acceleration cable being pulled). I also adjusted the Acceleration cable to much sure there's no slack in the cable.

Any other ideas on what could be going on?
2. BC Says: Sounds like timing. Honda has a weird little wire off to the side of your glove box that has to have a jumper in it when you set the timing or the computer will try and adjust it. All you do is place a piece of wire to connect both terminals on the plug. You will find a wire that is not connect to anything with a two terminal connector (female). Jumper connects those two contacts and then set your timing. Once your timing is set turn the car off and remove the jumper. Your car computer will take back over and things should clear up. Sounds like you are too far retarded on your timing. Good luck.
3. izzie Says: You might have damaged the engine valves when put the T-belt on wrong. Honda engines are designed with an interference fit pistons which will strike the valves if out of timing.
