Why do my brakes squeak?

Says: rotors, hard pads or brake dust. get some brake cleaner or go to a car wash and spray them down to get the dust off.3. Says: are you sure its the front not the rear.4. Says: your rear brakes might need some attention or they might be installed wrong5. Says: If the goal is to have good brakes without squeaks there are some steps that need to to be taken:Use factory brake pads or good quality equivalent parts.
Replace worn out hardware for pads and caliper.
Lubricate necessary parts properly.
Machine rotors if necessary.
And after all this, avoid overheating the brakes mainly on the break-in process.6. It needs to be generously applied on the back of the brake pads, clips and caliper bolts. If a mechanic did this for you then wait and see if they break in. If they don't, take it back to him.
