Josh's_Girl9207 Says: I have a 1999 ford taurus and brought my car into a shop on Friday to analyze what was wrong with my car and the guy first told me to put fuel injector into my car so I did and he said if that doesn't work then whoever I take my car to, tell them that my 4 and 5 cylinder is lean. How much would it cost me to get it fixed?

the_boy_toy Says: It means that the fuel injectors on 4 and 5 are malfunctioning. They will need to be replaced. Depending on how difficult it would be to remove the injectors would depend on how much it cost. My guess would be around $400

bandit_60 Says: it means the 4th and 5th injector is,nt spraying as good as the rest of them. if they are,nt too bad the the fuel injection cleaner should open them back up. when was the last time the fuel filter been changed. the filter keep the dirt away from the injectors and so does the air filter. i would try a bottle of injector cleaner for awhile and see if it will clean them before taking it to a garage. your looking about 40 or 50 dollars a piece for injectors.that,s what i payed for a car once i worked on.

Chris Says: On a car of this year and model I would check for a vacuum leak. Check the condition of all hoses near the intake manifold, check them underneath also. Some of these hoses are dealer items only. Replace any hoses that are badly cracked.
