Is buffing car wax on acrylic paint becoming obsolete?

1. Eywrshp Says: Yes you can use wax but with all the problems associated with it why?
Wax most common problem is that it dulls and has to be removed.
Its application is time consuming and redundant.
Some people swear by it.
Many Internet forums promote the use of it.
However, It does not make sense.
How can friction, heat from excessive rubbing, power buffing and or polishing be good for todays automotive acrylic paint?

uh,, exact opposite..

time consuming?
itll take maybe 45 min..
and only have do it every 2 months..
im sure you can find time.

polishing removes swirl/scratches caused by the consumer
of course you can remove too much clear coat
but generally, you wo nt come even close to that..

3. Kenny Says: Waxing todays car's with basecoat/clearcoat finishes is very important. The wax provides additional UV protection from the sun thus causing the paint to look deeper longer. Not waxing a car regularly will cause it to dull out quicker and will make it more likely to oxidize.
