(2010-05-30 15:45:17) 1. Says: starts and ticks over fine but when i go over 3000rpm in any gear it goes into limp mode....went through mot fine so emissions must be ok.
2003 2.2 dti2. Says: Your frontera is suffering from a sticky egr valve where the egr valve gets stuck by a build up of carbon deposits. If the carbon deposits build up on the egr valve seat it will cause the valve to remain partly open which causing loss of power or random power loss. The only fix is to remove the manifold and clean and free up the egr valve or replace the manifold which comes complete with the egr valve £200 plus for new part.3. Says: Are your brake lights coming on when they shouldn't?
That may seem a daft question but computers are... well not human.
I've had issues with this on a number of different car marque 's. what happens is the brake lights stick on and the computer says oh well you don't need any fuel then and acts accordingly. Then when you put your foot down it becomes confused and limp mode is it's get out.
Other sensors can give similar symptoms.
