I have 2000 jeep cherokee classic and while driving at any speed the RPM drops to 0 and the car die, why?
(2010-05-30 15:45:20) 1. Says: Sounds like the crank position sensor going bad. At first it happens occasionally, then progressively gets worse (more frequent) until it won't run at all.Inexpensive fix if you're mechanically inclined. A little tough to get at, it's on top of the transmission bell housing right against the motor. Two bolts hold it on, they can be a little tricky to get out because theyre hard to see and not a lot of room to work with. The sensor connects left of the engine near the firewall.
One trick to figure out if it's the culprit, if it stalls and doesn't start right up... Disconnect the sensor for a minute, then plug it back in.
I changed mine in about 15 minutes. Its a very common issue. Search the forums over at jeepsunlimited.com, someone will have pictures pointing everything out.2. Says: It doesn't like you. Not enough information.3. Says: sounds like something is blocking the flow of fuel. maybe it,s the fuel filter. gas cap is,nt tight, fuel pump is getting ready to go out or the fuel regulator is sticking.
