You'll find it to be very informative with good pictures and good directions. Good Luck I just printed the procedure for the 3 series oil reset just last week.

3. Chris M Says: Actually, you need to make a special tool to do this. It's very easy though. You need either one banana plug and an alligator clip, or two banana plugs. Connect these. Now, you open the cap to the computer connection (round cap, the top unscrews) Inside, there are a number of connections, they look like this: http://www.noren.com/bmw/sil.gif

Alright, what you do is connect pin 7 to ground (either with the alligator clip to something else, or to pin 19, which is ground). Turn the ignition to position 2 (don't start the car). After a few seconds, the oil service light will turn off, and after about 10 seconds, the inspection light will reset.
