1. fsylvania Says: one of the pulleys in my car is making high pitch sound when i accelerate. it is so annoying.
2. Richard Says: Belts and pulleys develop a surface glaze that causes them to slip. If you can tighten the belt, or apply some toothpaste to the belt (with the engine OFF) the abrasive in the toothpaste will break the glaze and restore your belt to smooth operation.
3. Qbritgohm Says: alternator belt?
4. Eduardo S Says: Maybe its a belt that's slipping, they make a loud squeal as you accelerate, in that case replace it.

Or it can be a bad pulley, just replace it, its only 5-10 bucks. A bad pulley eventually breaks without warning and the belt falls off, leaving you without power steering and a stalled engine.
5. Bagel the Cat Says: You probably have a loose belt that needs to be replaced.
6. Dennis Says: It sounds as though your belt is slipping on that pulley. When a belt wears it loosens up and the power of the motor is able to spin the pulley inside of it, making it squeal. The thing to do is identify which pulley is making the noise and then replace its belt. Best of luck.
