(2010-05-30 16:11:58)
1. lourdess Says: The suspension my my ka has almost gone when driving it its seems very unbalenced and makes noses everytime i go over the tiniest ridge in the road, round corners, or someties stop. First i will see if my dad can fix it himself as he is always doing the cars if not it will go to a garage how much will the parts cost?

Also i have a clunking noise in the back of the car which i have been told could be the struts or something how much would it cost to fix the stut?

Thanks
2. Timbo is here Says: Impossible to guess without knowing what the fault actually is
3. pedro7of9 Says: im a yank so ans is in USD
1 struts cost a lot about 200usd each... 800dollars
2 struts are almost impossible to DIY,,most need spesical compression tool and you [dad] should have a book/shop manual on how to. safety first!! 3 other parts up front ate ball joints 300/400 usd and tie rod ends 250/350 usd

it can really add up..i once sold a nice toyota because i didn't want to put 850 into struts...[sorry i didnt fix it and keep it lol]
4. Curt-blaze Says: it shouldent cost you that much.
5. All New TRUTH™ Says: New springs would sort that. 200 quid all in.
6. MARTYN Says: Without seeing the car, its difficult to diagnose the problem, but as an independent garage, and using genuine Ford parts, guide prices are as follows for suspension replacement:

Replace lower wishbones - £90 a side inclusive of labour;
Top strut mounts - £45 each side inclusive;
Rear shocks - £60 a side inclusive

That should give you an idea of the costs involved, though of course the vehicle needs to be seen.

Using pattern parts (whish we never recommend), costs would be less.

Hope this helps.
I suspect the front wishbone rubber bush bonding has failed.
