My Car loses power at low speed and when going uphill?
(2010-05-30 16:25:07) 1. Says: Car loses power at low speed and when going uphill,My car runs fine on highway, but at low speed or uphill I have to accelerate very lightly because if I push on the gas pedal too much then, the engine gets into higher rpm (it whizzes higher and louder) but doesn't make the car accelerate forward any faster.
I'm suspecting the automatic transmission, but whenever I shift gear there seems to be no delay. The car just lacks power overall at low speed.
When I took it to the mechanic they said it was a loose mount holding the pulley where the alternator belt is and he tightened this..it came loose again and it ratteling so I am going to take it back to see if he can fix it for good...is this the problem to the low power in my car?
can worn out ornot securely attached/aligned motor mounts and transmission mount decrease the car power in anyway?
Or do they just make the car vibrate more and become louder?
I also need my alternator belt replaced because it squeeks!
PLEASE HELP ME ON what to tell the mechanic because I am going to see him tomorrow!! thank you!!2. Says: The transmission is slipping. Or your fuel filter is simply clogged up and starving the engine of fuel. So I'm affraid its probably going to be a $400 repair for you...3. Says: I think the tranny is probably slipping, so get that checked out. the other thing is you might just need a tune-up so that the car is running cleaner and better. sometimes a tune-up can get you back a lot of horsepower.
bad mounts won't decrease power, just make everything vibrate.4. Says: sounds like a fuel pump motor mounts cause noise and an uncomfortable ride Tag: My Car loses power at low speed and when going uphill?
