1. C DubB Says: i took it to a shop that said 3200 including paint but my car is only worth 2k. it seems a little unreasonable. 1300 for parts, 600 for labor, 800 to paint, and 500 for paint supplies.
2. Vipassana Says: "it seems a little unreasonable"

Really?

What part of it is unreasonable?

If anything, the price seems low. A $1300 paint job, is not an expensive paint job. $2000 is closer to average. Assuming you go for a decent paint job, and not the cheapest you can find.

The parts cost is accurate, so is the labor.

Not their fault that you own a crappy, cheap car, and it costs more to fix than it's worth.

Ultimately, how much the car is worth, has nothing to do with the repair costs. It could be worth $200, and still need $5,000 in repairs.

Tough luck.
3. Kenny Says: Hard to say without you telling us what kind of car you have. On average, the damages that you described correlate just fine with the cost to do the job.

If you are curious about paint, I can understand that. Keep in mind that to repair a vehicle properly quality materials must be used. Just a 16ounces of sprayable color can cost $150 for a non metallic color. A gallon of clear coat with the necessary activators can cost $400. 8 ounces of sprayable sealer can cost $125. Remember that a body shop is a business and they do have to make money so they are not going to charge you what it costs them to do the job. You do not work for free and neither should they.
