WM_300ZX Says: Hi, I'm going to be removing an engine but need to move it from the driveway to my working area which is like 60-70 feet away. It's enough of a hassle that I'm not going to be removing it on solid pavement...so I am guessing its not a good idea to also move it with the hoist that distance. And according to the engine stand's instructions it isn't meant to be moved either. I heard it isn't anything to worry about, but yes, not having solid pavement to move it on. I have also heard of people using cheap wooden dollies and tires to set the engine on. Anyone have any solutions like this?

ricardo9505 Says: dollies man, that's teh way to move the engine, make sure they're solid. and you're right, engine stands are not meant to be moved but can be. on uneven service u may have too much strain on the mounting bolts but they should hold. should! go with the dolly to be safe, done it on big blocks.
