adam Says: ok just a little bit ago I went out and was gonna take the battery out to get to where I needed to change my headlight. All I did was take the negative off and then put it back on when I decided not to mess with the headlight. Then I started it and put it reverse and it would spudder and barely want to go anywhere. What could have messed this up? My car randomly sputters and jerks every once and a while before this happened, but I dont see why it ran fine earlier then I started it and it doesn't want to run right? Please give me and suggestion to what could have caused this. Thanks

Muddin Crazy Says: depending on the year if it has fuel injection when you disconnect the battery it erases the computers memory (injector timing, emissions control, everything ran by comp). the only way to fix that is to drive it, you're fuel mileage will go down a little and it will run rough till it gets its memory back. if that don't fix it then you might check it for trouble codes. you may even take it to have your injectors cleaned, that made a big difference in my truck

Muddin Crazy Says: That will work most of the time with most cars or trucks if the battery is disconnected, some take longer than others to relearn everything.
