1. Bob W Says: I don't care a pollution! Does the engine need back pressure from it? Not worried about the light.
2. Otto Says: What you propose is illegal and just stupid. It will also make the car run really poorly. It is designed and engineered to have the cat in place.
3. ampdfan88 Says: you might not care about pollution but first make sure your inspection station doesn't require a emissions test to be done on the vehicle. Following that, I don't think it'll hurt none, the car might feel a little sluggish (very small amount) but that's just because of the back pressure that was there is now gone. It shouldn't hurt none.
4. crude dude telling it like it is Says: How and in what way is it hurting you to leave it alone? Out of sight, out of mind. Certainly it is gonna cost you at the emissions stations - they know what to look for and they won't give you a pass till it is replaced.
And for god sakes, it is a Saturn. Definitely a muscle car it is NOT. You might as well as be driving an air-cooled VW bug.. Performance gain = 0 because they have detuned the cars. Low performance cam, low compression engine, and ignition timing is retarded.
