How do you change the Coil Pack on a Chevrolet Lacetti?
(2010-05-30 19:51:22) 1. Says: Engine management light comes on and engine misfires, have been advised (and checked online) it could be the coil pack. Would like feedback if this is easy to change myself2. Says: As far as the misfire, certainly that could be caused by bad coils, but also could be bad plug wires or plugs, a fuel delivery problem, O2 sensor problem, vacuum leaks and so forth. The best thing to do would be to have the car checked for trouble codes.Even that won't tell you exactly what the problem is usually, but will at least narrow it down. Besides the name associated with the code, you would want to know the possible causes for the code and to run some tests as indicated, in order to have any real confidence that what you do will actually fix the problem.
As far as changing them, it would seem to be fairly straightforward. The closest thing we have in the US to this car is the Suzuki Forenza. Since you didn't mention a year, I just picked 2005 at random. Here is the procedure for that model year, which comes equipped with only the 2.0L DOHC in this market. From the picture, it looks like some Allen head bolts hold it on.
