Is there a location on a new car which gives the day/month/year in which the car was manufactured?

1. Alan Says: I bought it March 25th with 3 miles on it...I want to wax and polish my new 2010 Ford Focus, but I don't know when it was made...so I don't know if the paint is set! I have heard that the paint must be 3 months old, or older before you seal and polish it. Is there a serial number...or VIN number...or placard on the car indicating it's date of completion for manyfacturing? This would tell me if it is 3 months old or older! Thanks..! I can't wait to polish that silver baby, but I don't know if I should yet!
2. Joshua Says: there should be a sticker in the driver side door jamb giving the date of completion. this is pretty standard for all vehicles. but i have never heard of this 3 month rule for paint. it should be completely cured before it is rolled out of the factory

thats a link to an FAQ for Meguiars, which is a leader in car waxes and detailing products. if anyone should know, its them.

so feel free to go ahead and wash it and wax it as often as you like. done properly each time, you wont hurt the paint at all. just avoid using a buffer wheel too often.
3. marquand635 Says: The month and year the car was made should be on the drivers door or pillar white tag look for the date on there.
4. joemong Says: when the paint stops beading up when it rains or get wet its time to wax.
