How do you know if a garage is trying to screw you over ?

1. hope m Says: can your hubs be rusted enough to make your lug nuts come off and almost break your studs ? I feel like i am getting screwed over by the garage my suv is at. PLEASE HELP !!!

2. Cliff Says: the presence of rust does contribute to more rust forming, so it doesn't help.

but studs are just studs. knock them out and put new ones in. they are cheap enough to be worth replacing if any suspicion exists.

make sure to torque and re torque them as you put some miles on, to make sure they are fully seated and nuts are properly tightened.

3. Bear Says: Not common but possible depending on the car,how it has been used # of miles, etc

4. cousin Says: sounds fishy,did you look.?they should have used wd-40 to loosen the rust,you mean lugs?so.big deal they did,t break,and there is no such thing as almost break.either it breaks or doen,t ,it,s irrelevant,i takes less than a minute to remove with a airgun,what did they charge? i think i misunder stood and wasted time,,hubs ?axle.what?if the hubs are rusted so are the studs and lug nuts so it,s impossible, PS,,,of course they will screw you. i ran one for years,i never did and had good steady customers,but ,now if i do work on anyone,s car since i,m out of that and older......everyone i know reverses it and screws me,,,any sense when i,m doing it as a favor,,the garage is 4x as much,,,
