1. S.S. Minnow-Johnson Says: I have a 98 Ford Contour and recently, when I make sharp left turn my emergency brake light comes on for a second then cuts off. I had some work done on my car recently and they said my brake fluid was ok, but it was a little brown or something like that nothing that was a pressing issue. What could be the possible problem and would I be looking at alot of money to fix this?
2. kritsada Says: Lol. Parking brake isn't the only source of brake light, you know. Though, it could be.

Another thing that could light the brake warning light is the pressure differential valve. When it sense a different of pressure in the hydraulic lines. It will light. So a leak in one of the brake line can be the cause.
3. Sharon N Says: check your e brake cable thoroughly to make sure it isn't getting caught up on something under the vehicle or around the back axle area. Make sure the e brake pedal is not engaged....look up under the dash at the pedal and check everything attached to it
4. Leslie R Says: Sounds like the positive side of the brake switch on the brake lever is grounding causing the light to come on. Shake the switch by hand and see if it lights up, if so replace the switch if not go from there.
