Transmission grinds into gear?

(2010-09-19 02:10:15)
1. The White Shadow Says: 1991 acura integra 5 speed manual

When I shift into 3rd sometimes 4th and 5th there's a grinding feeling in the shifter.

It has plenty of fluid and it's not dirty at all.
2. Mark S Says: It is your transmission's synchronization rings - they are designed to trap oil between the gears to bring both to the same speed just before the gears engage. If the synchro is worn out, the gears engage at different speeds, causing the grinding sound.

Premature synchro wear is usually caused by using excessive force while shifting or 'speed shifting'.
3. Len Says: Perhaps the clutch is wearing out. Pretty sure it's a hydraulic clutch and has no adjustment.
Sounds like it.
