Mr. O K Says: thank you to all that responded to my question

TURTLELY ENOUGH Says: Yeah could be the fuel pump. Have an assistant bang on the gas tank with a rubber mallet while you crunk it over. If it stays running ,your fuel pump commutator is gettin worn or contaminated. Or have the fuel pressure tested it should be around 55pso if it's a newer vic.

Michael Says: It's possible the fuel pump has quit, but I think it is more likely the Passive Anti-Theft System is killing the fuel pump. It can be terribly frustrating and requires an automotive locksmith or the dealer to get it working again in some cases. If you have other keys, give them a try first.
