Says: I have a 99 Ford Ranger with stander 14" rims and I would like to get 15" rims to make it easier to find new tires but my and my mom disagree because she said my truck calls for 14" rims and rims and bigger or smaller would miss my truck up because it not made for rims other then 14"What are the pros & con of going with 15" rims rather then 14" rims?2. Says: If you want to give a good argument, point out the fact that most Rangers come with 15" wheels, and they aren't much different than yours. They only used 14" wheels because they were cheaper, and yours was probably the economy model of Ranger like what is used in fleets and such. Some Rangers even come with 16" wheels.
As for pros and cons...
Pros would be obviously more tire choices, ditch your 14" hubcaps, and sometimes tires of the same overall size but on a 15" wheel can be cheaper.
Cons would be that you have to buy a new set of wheels. With the size of tires your truck should use, the wheel size won't affect ride quality or handling enough to make a measurable difference, so what the others said about it handling better and riding more rough are true, but not worth considering.3. Says: Larger rims will give you better handiling, but they also give you a slightly harsher ride and more unsprung wieght depending on the rims. If you are going to get bigger rims I would reccommend saving enouch money to get a lighter set which will slightly improve performance and gas mileage.4. Says: better handling...
