O2 sensor plug location for after cat sensor? 1993 Del sol?

1. concerned bf Says: I recently put in a whole new exhaust system, headers back, on my 1993 Honda Del sol Si d16z6. Got new cat, and cat back. The old system had an O2 sensor hooked up right before the cat. (mind you there is also one on the headers that is in place and functioning) The cat that was on there was a universal and had been installed rather hastily. When I removed the old system, the O2 sensor had one wire and wasn't hooked up to anything! Shouldn't it be 4 wires?

In the new cat, there is a spot for an O2 sensor right after the cat, easy to get to, easy to install.... but I don't know where to plug the new sensor in.

Is running it without a downstream sensor bad for the engine in some way and will I pass emissions testing?

I would like to get a new sensor in place because Ii know they came that way stock.

Any help on locating the plug would be very helpful. Thanks
2. Michael Says: The 1993 never did have a downstream O2 sensor - that appeared with OBDII in 1996. Your car has no place to connect the sensor and wouldn't know what to do with it if it were connected.
3. Boomerangst Says: I think '93's use only 1 O2 sensor. All you need to do is plug up that extra hole. Emissions test is hard to predict. You could take it in for a "pre-test" and see if it meets specs. If it fails you could try moving the 1 sensor to the other hole.
