My 2004 ford explorer XLT AC blows out hot air. what can i do?

2. Nate Says: Probably the A/C compressor isnt charged. So take it to a shop or go to autozone or checkers, and have them show you the stuff to charge the A/C compressor.

4. RustBelt Says: It probably DOES need freon; question is 'Why?' Check to make sure the clutch on the compressor is working (cycling) and the compressor isn't 'locked up'.

If the compressor is operating normally, the sealed system has been broken somehow. A technician
should have tools to find any leaks and repair them before charging the system.
