What are the best ways to add power to the Mazda 13b rotary engine?

2. Mutt Says: OK you have an S5. It's more than likely a N/A is which came with 160 at the flywheel and high compression Rotors. If you dont have to worry about smog go with a Racing Beat Header, Resonator and 2.5 duel exhaust or a 3 inch single exhaust, A good air filter on the end of your AFM. Bigger secondary injectors from like a TII which a 550cc instead od the 460s or find some GSL- SE cc Injectors. Remover rats nest, A/C belt to help lighten the mass on the main pully, a lite weight Flywheel and a better clutch and you'll be where you'll really feel the power... Bigger Exhaust will make your car loud with the header. if you have to worry about smog. I would just hollow out the 2 precats cause you will pass with just the main cat (I did last year in California) Air filter, exhaust flywheel and clutch. My set up is close to this one but I Deleted all belts except my Alt, water pump belt, I have a R&B Header 3" 5zigan single exhaust and a Fujita Airfilter basically the same design as Apex I power intake filters, runnin on premix on my S4 1988 Vert. Richard Says: easiest way would be to turbo charge it if it isn't already a turbo model if it is a turbo model put on bigger turbos a larger diameter exhaust with high flow cat and a cold air intake with better afms, it all depends on how much horsepower you want to get the higher the horsepower you want to get the more you are going to have to do

4. CT Says: I personally say throw out the rotary and drop in a V8. You could do intake and exhaust, port it, and put a big turbo on it but that's more hassle than it's worth.
