How can i get winter tires for a car with low profile tires?

i wanna get winter tires tho and is it possible to get low pro winters?
and if i get steel wheels with regular winters wouldnt it throw off the spedometer and such?

2. dick car guy Says: I suggest you get some stock crappy rims, even if your state does not use salt, there are lots of other chemicals, and none of them are kind to the finnish on expensive rims, as far as low pofile, you are going to have a problem there, you may have to go 16 inch with studded tires, and as far as speed how fast are you going to go on studs on frozen roads 20 mph maybe? I would check an online company called tire rack, and try to figure out if they can help tirerack.com is a big tire warehouse, also if you buy used rims, one way to make sure they are not bent is to have them put on a tire machine that balances tires and let the machine spin the rim and step back and make sure there is no wobble. (its hard to just look at an old rim and be sure, but spinning one at high speed, the wobble shows up easily.

3. Bill Says: It would be best to have the winter tires mounted on stock rims so you can change them over by yourself. Probably stock wheels are 16" and with winter tires won't be much bigger that the low profile 17"'s.
