1. Frank Says: i had my ac running good and clear when all of a sudden my car overheated and smoke came out and it leaked all my antifreez and i got the fan changed because it was the fan that stoped working but now my ac dont work and it trow out nothing but hot air and i filled it with refregrant and still dont work. how much would that cost to get it repaired and where will be the cheapest place???
2. dodge man Says: there's no way to say for sure until you have someone diagnose it,its hard telling what happened to it after that ,anything could have happened to make it stop working, have a shop diagnose it then come back with that information and i can help you,its hard for me to diagnose something sitting in front of a computer, almost impossible sometimes, good luck
3. dodge man Says: your welcome hopefully it won't be to expensive to repair,if the compressor went out ,that could get a little pricey, let me know what they say about it,and then i can help you with it,good luck
4. class4 Says: if the a/c was ok before the overheating there is no reason why it won't work after the repair. I'm sure that you lost some freon when the overheat happened and the overhead pressure on the a/c goes too high and the freon escape via the realease valve in the compressor, there is something particular in Intrepids and cirrus that do not happen with other vehicles: if when charging the system you are off by an once or two of freon the a/c won't cool, you have to have the right amount, you need to vacumm the system and then add the right amount of freon, I mean the right amount, I think it is 1.6#, take it to a proffesional not to your friend next door, it should'n cost you more than $100 in the Dealer. Worst case scenario and your evaporator is leaking?? $900 butt I don't beleive that is the problem. good luck
5. drjustinjohnson Says: I've heard bad things about intrepids. Not to burst your bubble but a couple friends of mine had them and they both constantly needed fixing. My advice is to buy another car rather than fix, because fixing a car will cost a lot in labor, especially if they can't find out what it is right away. Mechanics do that you know... slap on parts to rack your bill. For that money I'd rather buy another car.
6. ryan5546 Says: Not sure, but whenever the ac died on any of our cars in the family, it was typically in the thousands.
