Locked outside my trunk?

3. Scott W Says: What kind of car is it and how old is it? If it's the old style Chevy where you have 1 key for the doors and the other for the ignition you may be out of luck. I'm not sure if a dealer would be able to help you with that or not. The most they could probably do is take the back seat out and apart. I know this is a dumb question but can you get into the trunk through the back seat? You may have to take the back seat apart to see if you can remove the backing of the rear seat and get the key.

On the plus side sometimes a locksmith have key picks and lock-out kits they can use to get you into the car.

4. The Hankerchief Says: If you're locked out of your truck and have a AAA card, they'll pop the lock for free. If not, you gotta do it the old-fashioned way. Get a wire coat hanger and a crowbar or screwdriver or a flat wedge of some kind. Take the crowbar and slide the straight end into the crack of the door, near the top. (Do it gently: you'll screw up your door if you do it too hard). It won't give much, but it'll leave just enough of a gap to slide the coat hanger into. Unravel it, and twist it into a hook. Slide it into the gap and try to hook the door handle with it. Once you do, pull the handle with the hook and the door should open.

Or, you can always try your luck with a Slim Jim, if you have one. Slide the end into the bottom of the window, move it toward the handle (you should feel it hook something) and pull up. Careful, though: on newer cars, be watchful of the wiring in the door, you could screw up your power locks or power windows.

5. Rynozor Says: depends what type of door lock you have, whether or not u can stick a piece of wire or something down through the window and into the car to try and pull the lock open, other than that maybe ring a company that comes and assists when u lock ur keys in the car?
