My engine not working properly!!!?
(2010-11-07 14:10:05) 1. Says: so i own a 1998 chevy cavalier. 2.2L 4 cylinder 5 speed. Last year i had cracked the head. The begining of this year i had replaced that head properly. about a month after i had been driving it, it started to chug so to say inbetween shifting. like a loose wire kinda. then my check engine light came on. so i got it looked at and two codes showed up. One was a crankshaft positioner, and Two, cam sensor. i cleared the codes replaceing the parts. then it ran fine for awhile. then it started again. i had a uncle come over and look at it. he asked if i checked my MAP sensor. i hadnt so we pulled it out and the gromet was shot, and it was plugged. so i cleaned it and siliconed in back in. we also saw a whole in the spark plug wires and replaced those. then it ran fine. i thought i fixed it. now recently its doing again but also as im just cruising down the road my car will just shut off on me. just die. the wierd thing is, that everytime it does it, i started right back up first time. and its done this mutiple times now. some times twice in a row. any idea on what is causing this problem? im stumped.2. Says: Edit: Thanks for the vehicle info. Here's something for you to check out. There is a TSB(Tech bulletin) about a wiring flaw in your car. I have taken a picture of the bulletin and posted it online, to save time.http://i56.tinypic.com/2r2t36e.jpg3. Says: Check for codes again. Sometimes the sensors you get from a parts house don't have the same quality as OEM parts. Tag: My engine not working properly!!!?
