1. Adam Says: sometimes clean fresh oil can unseat the rings briefly and you may get some blow by, it should go away shortly, just keep an eye on it, putting in a lighter viscosity can do something similar, and if the oil was very dirty in the engine, that may have a short term effect when you introduce clean oil I bought a old ford pickup off some old hillbilly one time, I bought the truck in the dark the night before, because it looked great on the outside. I knew I was in trouble then next morning, when I pulled out the dirtiest air filter known to man, it was so dirty, the hillbilly ripped the center out of it, and stuck it right back in. I then went down to change the oil HUGE MISTAKE!! the place I always go, I always put 20 50 in, but this time, for unknown reason they put 5 30.weight, I was driving the truck across the parking lot, and pulled up to a red light. I noticed a small cloud of smoke behind me, but didn't think about it, the light turned green, I took off and went a short block to the next red light, halfway down the block, I glanced in the mirror, and about had a heart attack, huge clouds of Smoke completely obscured the three vehicles behind me, and smoke was drifting high in the air, and across three businesses parking lots, obscuring everything behind me, and to the left, the way the wind was blowing. I changed the oil to 20 50 and this fixed the problem.
.I f all is well with the engine, the smoking should disappear shortly and not wipe out all the misquotes in a ten block radius (sorry , just kidding)
2. justin plainold Says: Check your piston rings, there is perhaps a chance that oil is seeping into where the cylinder is firing and the oil is burning.
