1. Gordie Howe Do You Do It!! Says: I recently bought a used 2006 chevy cobalt. When I get the car, it had factory speakers. when i played music, the door rattled a little bit so i dont know if it is because of the speaker or if it is because something else inside the door is rattling. I also just purchesed subs for my car and was thinking about replacing the factory speakers. will this fix the problem or will the ratting still continue no matter what speaker is in there?
2. Helper Monkey Says: It's probably part of the door. Some parts just rattle. If you upgrade the speakers, it will probably get worse.

Look into Dynamat or some other sound dampening tape. It will usually cure more rattles caused by speakers (plus cut down on road noise and make your system sound better)

Of course, it could always be something else, but without looking at your door, there is no way to tell.
3. STEVEN F Says: SOMETHING inside the door is loose. If it only happens when the speaker is in use, the speaker itself if the best place to start. An actual diagnosis will require removing the trim panel.
