New lifters with original camshaft?

I believe that I have sludged up lifters (loud ticking that goes away), and I will be replacing them. I do not see why I would need a whole new camshaft for this reason, but i want to make sure that my work is not worthless. Thank you!2. When old lifters are put back in we should keep the lifters with the proper locations so the wear in the lifters matches the wear in the camshaft lobe, but when you are putting in new lifters... que sera, sera.
