Why do people want slotted rotors on performance cars?

It's when the heat of the brake pad and rotor is so intense that the pad vaporizes and creates a thin layer of air between the pad and rotor. Making it seem like your brakes aren't working.In today's vehicles I think the pads are good enough that it won't create brake fade anymore.3. Says: Because they think that brake pads are as bad as they were 20+ years ago if you spend money on good pads they will not need extra air and the extra material of the rotors will keep they from warping as easy.4. Says: the rotors cool faster when under hard braking and also there is the cool looking factor, really not needed on a street driven machine.5. Says: the slots catch fresh air to help cool the rotor. cooler rotor helps from warping the rotor.6. Says: Heat (and water) dissipation is much enhanced7. Says: They cool faster.8.
