1. Case Riefesel Says: the title says it all really
2. GP G Says: Drilled or slotted rotors where invented for one thing. To fight off brake fade. It's when the heat of the brake pad and rotor is so intense that the pad vaporizes and creates a thin layer of air between the pad and rotor. Making it seem like your brakes aren't working.

In today's vehicles I think the pads are good enough that it won't create brake fade anymore.
3. Q Says: Because they think that brake pads are as bad as they were 20+ years ago if you spend money on good pads they will not need extra air and the extra material of the rotors will keep they from warping as easy.
4. mister ss Says: the rotors cool faster when under hard braking and also there is the cool looking factor, really not needed on a street driven machine.
5. Tim B Says: the slots catch fresh air to help cool the rotor. cooler rotor helps from warping the rotor.
6. gojuryu Says: Heat (and water) dissipation is much enhanced
7. Dennis Says: They cool faster.
8. Squeaky Wheeler Says: To conform to the fad.
