Can an oil catch tank increase the engines performance?

(2010-12-29 03:10:19)
1. MG 6 Says: bhp/torque/mpg etc
2. joe Says: No. Maximizing air/fuel delivery and combustion boosts performance, lubrication upgrades only insures the engine won't seize up under higher RPMs.
3. Sargent Michell Says: Sure it would, but you would need a dry pan/scavenger system to go with it. The crank not having to spin through oil takes less power to spin it, so the engine can use the gained power for driving the wheels, and if it's not working as hard the fuel mileage goes up.

Race cars use it all the time.

And it will cost you more then you will ever save in fuel economy to do it.
4. Q Says: No it will just help the life of your engine if you need on ie turbo or high rpm engine.
5. bkg Says: Your car already has an oil catch tank...it's called an oil pan.
6. Buster Says: No why would you think it would?
