How do I attach the broken end of the spark plug to the head of a spark plug?
(2010-12-31 03:10:06) 1. Says: I am mounting an engine to my bicycle through a kit, and some of the parts are pretty cheap. The plastic head on the spark plug wire is completely broken, and I don't want to go buy another spark plug AND crimping kit from NGK for $28 for a little side project. That's a little ridiculous, so if I can do something a little bit more cheaply, even if it doesn't look good and isn't as effective, I will do it. I just need an alternative that will get my spark plug sparking from my broken wire. Thanks for all your responses, any input is amazing.2. Says: wrap that mother in electrical tape and see what happens. If it doesn't work you can try cutting up a can, rolling it into a tube, affix with electrical tape or liquid solder, and using that as a replacement to hold onto the plug. Used beer cans come in handy more than many would believe...it's good to keep a couple laying around just in case. Just don't use anything that's going to melt or burn when heated or running electricity through it.3. Says: plastic spark plug? I've only dealt with spark plugs with ceramic insulation. If you drop and break a spark plug(the ceramic part) it's toast. If it's just the spark plug i'd suggest finding out the exact plug and getting one from autozone for 3-6 bucks. If it truly is plastic then disreguard my answer.4. Says: don't waste your time get a new spark plug from autozone or napa parts or whateverthere is alot of heat around the cylinder head and it will melt any adhesive you put there5. Says: Go to a junk yard and get a rubber plug boot off an old spark plug wire.If the plug is broke too get a new one.
