Idk what car should i take rwd or awd?
(2011-01-08 21:45:51) 1. Says: here is the list of the car i have in mind.all clean titles:
2004 350Z - $13000 - stock 74k miles - 6 speed
2003 350Z - $11000 - megan exhaust - 97k - 6 speed
still looking for a 2002-03 WRX - plan to do some mods - 5 speed
2004 WRX - stock - 78k - $10,000 - plan to do some mods - 5 speed
2006 WRX TR - 70k - stock - plan to do minimal mods - 5 speed - $13,000
2006 G35 - 48k - stock - 6 speed - $12,000
ive driven all these except for the G35 & 02-03 WRX but plan to test drive one soon. I just cant decide if i should go for the all-wheel-drive or rwd car. I also want a car that has a good top speed and does not have trouble reaching it meaning 0-140 at least. Is the 350z better than the G35 or are they exactly the same by performance standards? Ive also heard wrx tend to have lots of problems concerning transmission and going stage 2. Ive never maxed a wrx out, but ive heard the G35 will kick his *** in a 80 mph roll because of the awd...but what if its stage 2?
Any other recommendations...2. Says: - AWD is better in the corners and on loose surfaces (ie. more grip), and launches faster but RWD cars are more balanced and can hang the tail out.
- The WRX doesn't compare in terms of straight-line performance to the 350Z or G35. Better off looking for an STi model. The WRX, until '06 where they started using the slightly more powerful 2.5L Boxer 4, has a 2.0L turbocharged Boxer producing around 220hp compared to the 350Z/G35's 300hp. The STi has a larger 2.5L engine producing around 300hp as well and 0-60 is done in under 5 seconds, on par with the 350Z.
- The G35 has the exact same engine as the 350Z but is a bit heavier so it would be a bit tardier in a straight line.
- Drivetype doesn't really matter in a straight line. AWD launches a bit faster than other drivetypes but it's a lot harder to do so properly except in the WRX or a Lancer Evolution where you just build up the revs and dump the clutch. It sounds like torture but it's the best way of getting the 'Rex off the line.3. Says: Unless you live in heavy snow country i would not choose the AWD as that is something that can break with time and mileage and not conducive to the speed/racing tone of your question.4. Says: 350z all the way. Tag: Idk what car should i take rwd or awd?
