Which state is a better buy for a new car (TX or NC)?

1. DeAndre Says: I'll be in NC or TX during March (b/c i'm overseas). I need to know which state is a better buy for a new car, like if NC or TX have higher taxes for buying a new car. If you bought a new car from one or both of these states please respond.
2. Rob R Says: It's irrelevant. You pay taxes where ever you TITLE the car. It has nothing to do with the state you purchase the car in. If you buy a car in NC, but live in TX, you pay the TX taxes.

Don't listen to any other answer. I sell Nissan's in Northern Indiana and we get Michigan customers all the time. In Indiana, it's 7% sales tax and in Michigan it's 6%. They pay their 6% regardless of where the vehicle is purchased. Trust me on this one.

From your friendly Nissan Salesperson :-)
